Inappropriate? This is a MUST have. I've tried the Outlook 2007 search, and the indexing just doesn't work. I've tried reindexing the entire exchange server, it just brakes after a while no matter what I do, but xobni saves my day.
But I really need it to search through attachments, especially PDF attachments. It's a mess to keep track of, but I barely hold on when I can fint the right sender and then scroll through the different attachements. But we have perhaps 250 different "Order confirmations" that we receive from different vendors each month, and I need to be able to search them. I'll gladly pay for xobni if the pro edition have this abililty.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Yes, this would be a hot feature, and well worth paying for in pro version.
-
Inappropriate?Yes I would pay for this as well - pdf's and excel files (.xls, .csv) would be most popular formats to index at the least.

Inappropriate?this should come as part of plus! its an essential need
-
Inappropriate?if it's essential, it should not be part of plus, otherwise the free version is useless, and should not be at all.

Inappropriate?I currently use an old version of Lookout. This product indexes all documents in specified locations including emails. Unfortunately it looks like Microsoft bought and killed the product. It is starting to show its age now.
Are there plans for xobni to provide full document indexing?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Lookout.

Inappropriate? There is a competitor to Xobni who is adding this feature and should be released soon!
Xobni -- You snooze you lose unfortunately. -
Can you give us details? -
Inappropriate?Ok... I own a small development house - this is a perfect little project to keep the guys entertained.
Will keep you guys all posted. Shoot me an email if you want me to keep you updated on the status.

Inappropriate?Great Evan!
If Xobni wont build it, others will. -
Inappropriate?I have been running Lookout for a few years and decided to give Xobni a try but its inability to index specific public folders and to index attachments might be the deal breaker for me to continue using Xobni.
-
Inappropriate?Alright guys... I am going to develop something from scratch to meet the needs of the masses. I was thinking along these lines:
1. Work on Exchange 2007 indexing both public folders AND individual users accounts.
2. As a first attempt, the system will index Office 2007 files, at a later stage and if required, we can look at indexing PDF's
We are not going to develop a product to replace Xobni or Lookout, rather just a small little tool that will allow you to index and search the contents of attachments.
Sound Good? -
Inappropriate?Uninstalled yesterday, 6 month since going to payware, and no attachment indexing. Found another product.

this is one of the best points

Can you tell us what other product you went with? -
Inappropriate?here I thought all along that my attachment content was being searched, until today I Spent an hour looking for something, which i finally stumbled upon manually. Bad for you Xobni!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi all,
Sorry for being late to the party. We currently only index the attachment names, but are considering this for an upcoming release.
Thanks for your patience!
Eirik
