Why does the Drop Down Menu of my contacts take so long to Populate in the "To" Field?
Hi,
I recently downloaded xobni plus and indexed my inbox.
Every time I prepare a new E-mail, the "To" field takes a while for the Drop Down Menu to populate. Also, about 80% of the time, my E-mail freezes for about 5 seconds until xobni and outlook are down fighting to populate the drop down menu for my contacts.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
It is extremely frustrating when I have to select multiple recipients as it takes a long time.
It is so frustrating that I have considered uninstalling xobni and asking for a refund.
I look forward to your response:

Inappropriate? Thanks for reporting this. You might try scanning/repairing your Outlook data files as follows to see if this corrects the problem:
1) Restart your computer
2) Before starting Outlook, run SCANPST/SCANOST on each of your Outlook data files and use the repair option to correct any problems that are found. To do this go to Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs. Scroll down to the Xobni entry and click 'Uninstall' (don't worry, you aren't going to actually remove it). Click the 'Repair' button, and use the ScanPST and ScanOST controls there. Please continue to run the application until all problems have been repaired, you may need to run the application more than once. After doing this, you can try running Outlook again. I would also click Xobni > Index Outlook Mail once more.
If it doesn't I think the problem here might relate to something specific about your system and that we would need a diagnostic file from your system to resolve this. In that case, please do the following:
1) Reproduce the problem and close Outlook
2) Run the Inspector X application by going to Start menu > All Programs > Xobni > Diagnostics > InspectorX.
3) After data is displayed, use the “save as zip file” option, and save the file to your desktop
4) File a support ticket with this log attached (http://www.xobni.com/support/ and click "contact support). Please put in the Subject line: "Get Satisfaction: Why does the Drop Down Menu of my contacts take so long to Populate in the "To" Field? " and include a link to this forum post. You can find more details about using Inspector X and submitting a ticket here: http://www.xobni.com/support/?view=92
You might also try turning off Xobni's Autosuggest feature just to confirm whether or not this is the cause of the problems. You can do this by clicking the "Xobni" option on the Outlook menu bar, clicking "Options", and unchecking "Autosuggest" (third item down on first tab).
I’m hoping this will help

Inappropriate? This is a very bad bug!! It has rendered outlook useless to me.. And to top it off now I have to spend all day trying to fix something that was seemingly unbroken before the last xobni update!! Its even worse because your tool only seems to be wasting my time and processor cycles so you can sell an upgrade I am not interested in.. Really?

Inappropriate? Thanks James. I will try your suggestions today.
I am keeping my fingers crossed...hopefully this will work.
This bug has really left a bitter taste in my mouth with Xobni.
Outlook is so easy and fun to use, but Xobni has taken that away from me.

Inappropriate?Just disable the option under the general tab of the xobni options and things will be better. Unless of course you want xobni to search for contact for you.

Inappropriate?Right on, thanks Aaron.
