Outlook 2010 Support for Xobni???
What's the ETA on Outlook 2010 support? I have it loaded and Xobni 1.7 and 1.8 kind of work, but unfortunatley cover up part of the email view, and slip part way to the background during folder navigation, then comes back to the surface when I shift from Inbox to Calendar and back... I'm up to testing either x86, or x64 (as I'm currently running Windows 7 x64, Office 2010 (currently x86, but could run x64 as a tester for you)...

We expect to support Office 2010 on it's official release date. Until then, I would expect that there would be issues running Xobni in that environment.
I'd advise you to keep an eye on our website, we'll be needing new Alpha testers over the next few months, and an announcement will be made there.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Just grabbed the Office 2010 installer from MS but don't want to install on my primary PC if it kills Xobni. Any braver souls out there that have tried it? All Xobni team says is that they will test it soon... =P

Outlook 2010.
I’m undecided
-
I'm running it with Outlook 2010 and it seems to work fine. Only issue I've noticed so far is that the Xobni sidebar doesn't actually 'fit'... instead, it hovers on the side of the outlook window, covering the scrollbar! -
Yes I have tried this. My machine with Office 2010 32bit is working fine - including the xobni. My 64bit machine however isn't showing xobni after installation. I'm looking forward to the new version -
Inappropriate?Office 2010 - everything is fine, except the fact that the sidebar is not visible. I thinks this is somehow of a minor...if there is anyway to fix that, I would be glad!! If there are alphas, I am in as well.

Office 2010 - no sidebar.
I’m just asking

Inappropriate?I dunno what you guys did but I cannot see Xobni anywhere in my Outlook 2010 TP (running on W7 x64)...
PS: why the hell this PoS rebranded-getsatifaction forum does NOT carry over my logged in getsatisfaction.com session?
What a truly idiotic, pointless rebranding it is...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm running Windows 7 x64 and Outlook 2010 x64, and the latest Xobni installation doesn't even appear in the list of add-ins, as far as I can tell. But I'm all up for alpha testing once it does!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? As you should have noticed by now, unless you're running x64 plug-ins for Outlook (Office in general), they won't work. As Office 2010 is the FIRST VERSION of Office that offers an x64 version and it's not even released yet (Technical Preview is VERY EARLY, STABLE BUT STILL VERY EARLY) there are no x64 add-ons. Hopefully in the near future Xobni will have x64 BETA testing available...

Inappropriate?I am using the Office 2010 Technical review, Windows 7 with the latest build of Xobni. It is working but overlapping the emails. Auto-suggest is overlapping also with outlook suggestions. Plugin get disabled on its own sometimes.
-
Inappropriate?Only issue I can add to Emad's summary is the option selection from the Xobni pane doesn't work but it does from the Outlook Add-In ribbon menu. I find Xobni works with Office 2010 and look forward to testing the alpha.
I’m accepting this is beta
-
Inappropriate?I understand the 2010 is beta, but as you can see, your most passionate users are also passionate about Outlook. Please see what you can do about providing betas, or workarounds for Outlook 2010.
-
Inappropriate?Unfortunately I haven't been able to use Xobni in several months. Luckly I've gotten used to not having it, and now don't miss it much.
-
Inappropriate?I have to agree with Daivd, I have bought the Plus and started using it. now after upgrading to the office Beta i can no longer use Xobni and I am afraid I am getting used to that already.
-
Inappropriate? And while I understand that keeping up with new app versions from a compatibility stantpoint is a challenge; the main reason I ever used Xobni was that I got turned onto it in beta, used it with my Outlook at the time and it provided some really cool features. Now the shoe is on the other foot; I'm testing some really cool Outlook enhancements, but my poor Xobni is left in the dust...
I’m sad that Xobni still hasn't producted an x64 compatible product...
-
Inappropriate?I also tested Xobni with Outlook 2010 Technical Preview and only way it worked was when I upgraded from Outlook 2007 with Xobni already installed. I'm not sure if this is work for other users too but for me it is working.
-
64 bit ? -
Inappropriate?I don't believe the upgrade process would work from 2007 to 2010 x64 version as I think this must be a fresh install.
-
Inappropriate? This is indeed the case as I tried to upgrade from x32 2007 to x64 2010 beta. So after I uninstalled 2007 and then installed x64 2010, I then installed xobni and it does not appear in the list of add-ons. x64 is needed here.
-
Inappropriate?for me it appear in list but the sidbar is not shown :(
-
Inappropriate?Update! Outlook 2010 BETA came out yesterday (for Tech Preview folks). I downloaded and installed (even went x86 instead of the better x64 option in hopes of getting Xobni to work properly)... Unfortunately it still doesn't work right. Still overshadowing my email content... Bummer... Time to uninstall it again...

Inappropriate?Interesting additional note on Outlook 2010 beta; http://officebeta.microsoft.com/en-us...

Inappropriate?Really wish it supported Outlook 2010. Makes me frustrated to think that MS is ahead of Xobni.

Inappropriate?I forgot to mention that I upgraded 32-bit Office 2007 to 32-bit Beta of Office 2010 and Xobni worked.
-
Inappropriate? Here is my experience as of yesterday (11/23/09). I had installed 64-bit office 2010 beta on W7 Professional, Xobni did not seem to work. Then I read somewhere on these posts that it only works on 32-bit version, so I uninstalled 64-bit and installed 32-bit office 2010 beta. I reinstalled xobni, and after a reboot, and giving outlook some time to index, closing and reopening, xobni seemed to come to life. the only hitch was what others have complained about - that of the sidebar running over the reading pane. One solution I've found is to click on the bottom of the reading pane to open up outlook's social network add-in then to minimize it, which seems to put everything in their proper place. I'm certain the folks at xobni will deal with this soon but it's not a bad solution considering we're all playing with a beta version of outlook.
-
Inappropriate?I am guessing from what I am reading that the 64-bit version has not worked for anyone, correct? I am about to install on Win 7 64-bit, office 2010 64-bit. I will miss Xobni and hope a alpha out to test soon.
-
Inappropriate?okay:
the sidebar will be shown if the "Lesebereich" (dont know how its called in english:)) is "right".

if its "off", the sidebar is hidden or if you uncheck/check the sidebar option under "Addins->Xobni" its only half-length:

The problem: i dont use that "Lesebereich" for security reason, so the sidebardoes not work proper for me. -
It's "reading pane" in english. -
Inappropriate?I've tried reading pane options also, but as soon as you navigate to Calendar or other Outlook area and back to Inbox, the email reading pane is partially hidden by Xobni. I agree that clicking the bottom (new Outlook Social Network Updates) upper bar of area works also, but is temporary at best. The best workaround I've found is just keeping Xobni minimized, which hopefully only covers a bit of the email viewing screen (or disabling Xobni totally)...
-
Inappropriate?Already Disabled Xobni,
Now I can only use LOOKOUT to search my Email.
Hope we can use Xobni in Outlook 2010 , Do not let us to wait till 2012~
I’m Frustrated
