Ability to 'grab' contact details?
Xobni has the ability to collect/collate contact details embedded within eMail messages. Is there a way I can then export this information into a new Outlook contact?

Inappropriate?Until such time as Xobni considers including this function I use the LinkedIn tool bar. It comes with a free 'grab' button. It is the only reason I use the LinkedIn add on.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? We do plan to address this in an upcoming release, though I can't give more detail than that. Be assured that we know about the need for this feature.
Thanks!
I’m confident

this answers the question

Inappropriate?tyler, to add to guines.squirrels question...the ability to export analytic data like by domains and grouping contacts by network would be extremely beneficial to those in Sales and Marketing.
Do you see this being a possible direction of future releases??
I’m a Xobni Evangelist!!!

Inappropriate?@ Babar247:
We have a general overhaul of our Analytics planned for a future release, probably in 2010, though I can't say exactly when. So, it is certainly possible that this could be added to the feature set.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Tyler,
All I need is FName, LName, MI, eMail
The company Exchange Outlook server gives me something like /o=CompanyName/ou=AG-USA/blah blah blah as the email field. I need the more familiar fname.lname@CompanyName.com format. Is that doable?
I’m frustrated with Exchange

Inappropriate?I place a considerable of information about each of my contacts in the notes section; e.g., previous employers, where we met. It would be nice if Xobni could include that information in its search.

Inappropriate? Is there an address "grab" feature, to allow import into Outlook?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Where is Grab. -
Inappropriate? The LinkedIn Outlook toolbar has the "Grab" feature and it works great. I have used it for over two years. Simply highlight the signature from someone, click "grab", then magically, a new Outlook contact opens with the properly formatted info. One of the greatest features in the world!
-
Having an action to create an Outlook contact from the collected info would be great. -
LinkedIn toolbar uses a product from Copy2Contact.com - the full version is even more powerful (eg guess the email address if it isn't in the signature).
The difference with Xobni is that you don't have to highlight the signature, so I'd be even happier to have both -
Inappropriate? As Xobni mines data from LinkedIn, Facebook, etc... i would like it if it would give me the option to update the Outlook Contact record with the photo it finds in these other systems. Nothing fancy is needed, just a simple - "update contact record with this photo" button.
-
Inappropriate?Reading the Xobni sales information I believed that this was a feature otherwise I would not have purchased it. I think it is misleading. What good is all that information if you do not give me free access to it? What a bust!
-
Inappropriate?Is this feature now available?
-
Inappropriate?Guys, it's been 10 months now ..., any news about the feature described above? Thank you,
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I met face-to-face with the Xobni guys a couple of days ago. This feature is still in the works, but not there yet. I expressed to Josh in no uncertain terms that we really, really want this feature. Come on Josh!!!
-
Inappropriate?in the absence of any action from xobni on this one, anyone else got any suggestions for a software that mines through your outlook emails and grabs emails and signatures and puts them into a csv file or other file that can then be imported to outlook, act etc.? (and doesn't then take that info for its own spamming purposes, of course) Even just a once off would be OK.
-
Inappropriate? The closest thing is the "grab" function in the LinkedIn toolbar. This allows you to highlight the name, and contact information from an email or similar item, click "grab" and have most if not all populate the new contact in Outlook.
-
Inappropriate?I have just downloaded the Linked in tool bar - its great but it also informed me that I have 45,475 emails in my various folders and subfolders(many of them circulars contact detail from which i dont need) so going through them one by one will be a pretty gargantuan task. On the other hand being able to get them into excel with just unique emails would probably halve the total number then I could delete all the ones that start with info or noreply and then with a list that might by that stage be about 5000 names I could sift through and find the ones that needed to be added/updated on our company mailing database (I am a publisher) or to my outlook contacts etc.
-
Inappropriate?I am not aware of anything that will accomplish this task in a more automated fashion.
-
Inappropriate?I used Clear Context with limited success...but Xobni does a better job of extracting everyone on emails (cc's included)...so Xobni's potential is big but unfortunate the feature is being held back.

Inappropriate?I had to reformat my computer and lost ALL of my contacts in outlook that i had painfully added one-by one. I dont think i can handle doing that again...
If Xobini can give me the stats on all of the unique emails ive gotten, it would be INVALUABLE if they could let me export the emails into my outlook address book!!! Pretty Please add this feature!! -
Inappropriate? While it still will require hands on effort (instead of simply an import function) try the Grab It function on the LinkedIn toolbar. It will significantly reduce the amount of typing you need to do to repopulate Outlook.
-
Inappropriate?FYI - I tried the Linked-In bar and ended up with buggy behavior. I have found that similar efforts with adding add-ins (e.g. ClearContext) on top of Xobni invariably results in compromised functionality. It's frustrating to be sure.
-
As I mentioned above, LInkedIn uses the free version of Copy2Contact - the paid-for version is excellent but still requires you to highlight the signature in each email -
Inappropriate?Would the Suggested Contacts folder contain what you need? I know it isn't as complete as you'd like, but it is a start
-
Inappropriate?Dear Xobni,
one year should be sufficient to develop a tool that is indicate in the web page material to be standard when buying your product. This is not acceptable. I'd appreciate a decent estimate from your side when this feature will be available. Thanx for your (Xobni's) reply.

-
Inappropriate?I'm very glad I didn't buy this program because the single most useful feature was contact management and syncing between what Xobni pulled from my e-mails with my outlook contacts. I had high hopes for this making my life simpler. I tried out the 8-day trial and was surprised to find it missing. I'll save my money, thank you very much.
I’m glad I didn't buy.
-
Inappropriate?Unfortunately I bought xobini thinking that this problem would be resolved quickly as indicated in this forum.
The company probably does not have a decent software development team - it has taken over a year to release the update!
What is the point of a software that does not grab the info and let it reside in Outlook so that we can then replicate it with our phones.
I would be very careful in buying any of their products in future. Certainly very disappointed with the company.
