I find that xobni doesn't extract first and lastname and populate the name field in the profile for address format which is quite common first.lastname@company.com.

When I search I typically would like to find a person, attachment or something in an email. Not a wide search hence I don't need to have all of the following results returned, people, messages, files exchanged, appointments, tasks, links and anything else great you come up with.


The problem is this takes time and unnecessary cpu cycles - which although xobni search is very fast - over 16GB of PST files this still take a few seconds which I would like to have back :-)


Hence my idea is 2-fold:

1) for searches which haven't returned results yet, provide an interface to cancel that sub-search. E.g. an x next to the spinning wheel for messages to cancel the message search.

2) enhance the advanced search syntax to enable selection of one or more of the above result types. I would guess this should be AND rather than one type - although I'm lazy and if I need more than one type I'll just search across all types like we have today :-)

Thanks - I'd given up checking Xobni for this contact's updates on Facebook, just went there directly in a browser. Just checked it again and all working as it should :-)

A comment on the problem "Auto suggest issue - old addresses" in Xobni:

Suggest you turn off autosuggest in Xobni options and turn on "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and BCC fields" in Outlook's options (you can get there from Tool menu | Options | E-mail Options | Advanced E-Mail Options menu path.

Edit profile needs to a hover over menu action from people in search. This is in order to add other email addresses and other contact details.

A number of my contacts have multiple email addresses. It would be great if the edit contact screen would support autocomplete in the email fields. Then one can add emails easily without having to search for the email, copy and paste into the record each time.
