Love Xobni, keep up good work.

I do feel it has slowed my system a bit, but otherwise like what you are doing.

I would offer up a suggestion for Exclusion criteria for contacts and folders.

For example, I really do not care who is affiliated with a spam email i receive - though I want the email. I have a rule that filters these emails to a "Stuff" folder. It would be cool to be able to tell xobni to NOT include a certain folder or folders in its searching/indexing. Additionally, being able to "flag" a contact as EXCLUDED from Xobni would be nice. These Exclusion ideas could actually help peformance as it could reduce the volume of messages being indexed.

I agree that it would be helpful if folders could be marked as excluded from Xobni. I mentioned this as well in a mail I sent to Xobni.

In my case, I ask for read receipts on all my emails and I keep all of these (in a special folder where I move all read receipts to it automatically with an Outlook rule). I think there may be some issues with Xobni because of this. For example, I've seen these show up in the conversations list under a contact. I also wonder if these might be counted in the mail count (but I'm not sure if they are or not). If Xobni could be setup to exclude certain folders, that would surely take care of my issue because I would simply exclude this folder.

James

Exclusions by folders would be excellent. I receive regular notices from an email address and don't really consider them from "that person" since it is actually a mailing list. I sort them into a folder and it would be good to exclude.

I agree. This would be a very usefull feature. I have spam folders as well as folders that have replicated emails.

That would be an awesome feature. I have been using Xobni for all of 2 hours now and I can already use that feature. Please release it soon.:D

Exclusion logic - yes, yes, yes!

Without exclusion logic, the results are skewed.

Also, the ability to ignore BCC entries.

I agree, would like to select / deselect folders that should be ignored.

I totally agree that this functionality should be added !!!

It will not work however wen implemented in the proposed way  . Excluding the "Stuff" folder (or however you named it) will not get rid of the problem, because mail is received in the Inbox first, gets indexed - I presume - by Xobni on arrival and then at some point the Outlook ruls kick in.

I have an external program, K9, that filters spam by adding a predetermined tekst to the subject of the mail. Ofcourse I have set a rule for them to move these to the std Outlook "Unwanted mail" folder. They are indexed by Xobni now.

I would suggest ompementing proper exclusion logic within Xobni to tackle this problem.

Can't wait...

Just in case another vote helps move the feature up in the priority list...Xobni's awesome and the only reason I can to this site was to see if I could exclude the mail in certain folders from showing up in the conversations list or it was being worked on/thought about. Sure enough, it seems people are. Really looking forward to it.
