Orange and Grey network icons

I'm looking at a contact's network. There are orange icons and a few grey ones. What do the colours mean?

Dark color (purple, orange, etc.) - people you have directly contacted and exchanged emails with



Light (gray) color - people on CC's you've interacted with, but never emailed directly (or vice versa)
