I finally got my much awaited beta invite. Xobni looks promising but I was a little disappointed that it really doesn't integrate my Outlook contacts with the contacts lists it creates via emails received and sent. I don't want to add phone numbers to Xobni for the 600 people I already have info on. If they were integrated then it would have that info. It would also start to make company associations like EasyReach does. For example, it is nice to see Bob from IBM sent me an email and who is connected to him, but it is nice to see who from IBM is also connected to him vs. those who are not from IBM. EasyReach also has a feature to show me all emails from the company IBM. This will then look at my Outlook contacts and get all emails from people where the Company is listed as IBM.

I realize this is beta. It looks good so far, but this having a tighter integration to the Outlook Contacts (similar to EasyReach) would be advance Xobni's usefulness for me.

hi,

Xobni does integrate with your outlook contacts. We pull all the data you've put into you Outlook contacts, automatically into your Xobni contacts. If you aren't seeing this data, you've found a bug - please contact our support team.

Hopefully we'll get that fixed for you and Xobni will be one step further towards making email a happier place.

I agree, it doesn't pull pictures either. I don't want to update ALL my contacts again.

I agree with "homeless" that I don't want yet another contact manager. Xobni needs to have it's own database, to be sure, but I'd like a way to update my outlook contacts with data from Xobni. I defnintely don't want ot have to enter a whole lot of phone numbers in Xobni, but even moreso, if Xobni detects a better phone number, I'd like to be able to update my official outlook contact record (or create one) based on this updated information.

Automatically updating is dangerous, but a little icon that indicates that changes are available that I can update would be easy to click to update. Showing updates before committing is even better. And the creme de la creme would be to allow me to not update because Xobni in fact is not more up to date, and then Xobni knows this and only lights the icon again when the Xobni database values change (this keeps the noise-factor way down.)

This I would find very helpful indeed!!

If it is a bug, I have it too. No contact information or outlook contact card pictures that I have already populated are showing.

In addition, I would prefer that it has active directory and ideally MS Unified Communications integration as the rest of my outlook benefits from. I may not have the people in my local address book but outlook has their information and has presence integration that isn't leveraged in Xobni making it provide less 'contacts' value that the rest of Outlook when its purpose is to improve on it.

Xobni automatically discovers telephone contact from the footer in the emails.

Can we not get a backward integration piece , in which xobni (backward spelled ) gives back the phone update as well as adds up the searched contact into the contact of my outlook.pst file.

This would make it really backward and forward compatible tool.
