View Full Version : Outlook Hangs Following Mail Sending

I'm using Outlook 2007 connected to an Exchange 2007 source. Without fail, every time I send an e-mail, my Outlook application freezes for a good 10 seconds. Very annoying considering how much I use the application throughout the day. Am I alone in noticing this? I really don't care to have my index re-synced immediately after anything changes in my Outlook data store. I'd rather the Xobni service wait until it detects inactivity, like Windows Desktop Search and all other indexers do...

Thoughts?

Hmm interesting problem. Well just to clarify, Xobni does not resync when anything changes in the data store, it only indexes the new mail.

It would be worthwhile if you could contact our support team (support@xobni.com) so that he can walk you through the collection of logs so that we could look at this problem further.

I am now using xobni but I'm having the same problem. Outlook 2007 with the Exchange and I get that same 10 second freeze. Any ideas?

Running Xobni 1.2.3 (build 3644) on Outlook 2007 (12.0.6300.5000) under Windows XP Professional SP1.

I habve a scheduled send/receive every 15 mins when online, and without fail, Outlook stops responding during that time.

Any update on debugging the issue?

@ MisterBates (and everyone else):

Not saying it's directly responsible, but XP Service Packs 1 & 3 are not supported. XP Service Pack 2 is the only flavor of XP currently supported.

Please confirm that you're running SP2 and see if this problem continues. We're seeing issues with SP3, specifically, so we're trying to nail down whether or not this is affecting users. Thanks!

Hi, same problem. Running Xobni with Outlook 2003 (SP3) (+MS Exchange), on Win XP proffesional (SP2).
After installing the application not only the sending of mails hangs, but the overall e-mail performance seems to be affected. When browsing trough e-mails it freezes for few seconds...
I checked the RAM (Paging File) usage and its not exhaustet, so I dont have clue...
Any fix is highly appreciated as the app rocks folks!

OK, my mistake (and apologies). I'm running Windows Xp Pro SP2, Outlook 2007 SP1 and Xobni 1.2.3 build 1644. I've been monitoring, and it's not a complete hang, just a big slowdown. If I'm typing a mail when send/receive happens, I can type ahead, then watch as outlook catches up a few letters at a time. I'm going to uninstall Xobnito see if any improvement.
