This isn't a productivity trick per se, but my personal email is handled by gmail, and I used to spend time checking it every day at gmail.com even though my email at work was in Outlook.

Recently, gmail launched IMAP support, which allows Outlook users to check their gmail from within Outlook. The happy side-effect to this is you can use Xobni on your gmail messages too!

Enable IMAP in gmail.
Once logged into gmail.com, click Settings on the top right. Click "Forwarding", under IMAP check "Enable".
Set up gmail in Outlook.
I'm going to cheat a little and simply refer you to the excellent step-by-step on gmail.com (https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77689)
Xobni will need time to sync with the new data
It should appear within a day or so.

And now you have all your email in one place! And Xobnified to boot!

Just click on synchronize (Xobni-menu/synchronize) and you don't have to wait a day (altought it can take quite some time to index all your gmail-emails)

I actually would like it if IMAP indexing were optional. I have gmail going to an IMAP folder, but it turns out I don't use it there very much. So it would be great if I didn't have to let Xobni take the time to index it.

Best of all, it would have been great if Xobni would have asked me upon install if I wanted to index the IMAP folders. I could have said no.
