Yes, I've only been here a short time but it's time to move on. Why?

1) The condescending manner in which the Xobni people have spoken to us. This was particularly evident in their attitude regarding Cached Exchange Mode.

2) They are forcing me to change my username from admin777 to dmin777 or choose another one because they do not allow the word admin in the name. I've been on many forums and used this and have not been told I couldn't use it. This is a first.

Xobni is just not worth it.

See ya.

Based on their attitude; I doubt it.

I'm sorry to hear your experience has been so negative.

The Cached Exchanged Mode caused a mini-riot; the next release (due early next week) will do what users suggested: allow you to work with it disabled. We'll have a few gentle reminders, though, to emphasize the degradation in performance expected.

We are doing our best to respond to users while making the product better and essential for as many users as possible.

clint999, I'm not sure why you quote verbatim what I posted but didn't leave any other comments. What is the purpose of that?

This is now the second time you've done this. Are you just trying to get people to see the link in your signature? If you have something to add then please do. Otherwise, what's the point?

Well this even seems idiotic to rant about, i bet you could even write about it on consumerist or even waiting for it to be approved!!! They changed your name because your username seems to imply you are affiliated with Xobni, in which you are not. I do not even want to write about that particular thread.

I use that username on technical sites because I am a Network ADMINistrator. Get it? :)

For whatever reason you may call yourself Admin777, It isn't a bright idea here as stated earlier it gives the impression you are affiliated with Xobni.

Is it common for you to insult people you don't know?

It was not an insult. If you are a admin, you would not allow users or email names pretending to be admin too.

And I 100% agree to Kurt123 :-)

The username does not represent whether a person works for Xobni or not. Just look at the names they use for themselves. Not one of them has the word "admin" in it. They are identified as an admin in the comment under the username. For example the person with the username of "Tyler" has a tag line of "Xobni QA Superstar (Admin)."

P.S. You may think you're being "cute" or intelligent with your less-than-witty comments but that's not the way it comes across. :D

For some reason I am taking the time to do something I don't bother with...tell a stranger the truth about something they did not ask for.

As you are not affiliated with xobni, it is unwise for them to allow anyone to keep a userID that could be confused with an admin. Having not read your posts about exchange, but reading between the lines I can only believe that your words are unsympathetic to their attempts to tune their product (that happens to be in Beta). This makes it VERY unwise to allow you to have that ID.

Even if you were not treated 'well', of which I neither know nor do I care, carrying anger forward and doing things like 'not participating' in the future is both unwise and self-destructive.

"Anger is the weakest of all emotions and only shows our inability to cope". This fact is not specific to you but applies to everyone including myself. So it is my hope that you can let go of what is bothering you and move on with peace. Every time you choose this path in the future you will be doing yourself and society a favor.

Happy trails,

CalNativeKid:)

Not feeding the trolls here, but I have to argue that your points, dmin777, are a bit specious.
Unless the Xobni guys contacted you directly with snide personal remarks, I haven't see any evidinve of a lack of respect from them. No matter how silly the question may be, they've always been polite.
The Exchange Cached Mode question was treated properly. Obviously the application was designed with this feature in mind, in order to keep Xobni from killing network infrastructures when indexing. The developers have listened, and added support for running outside of that environment, but with a caveat emptor.
So, you got what you wanted, but you're still complaining?

Secondly, your complaint about your username is churlish. When playing in other people's sandpits, you work by their rules. Saying "But my other friends' moms allow me to do that" just doesn't apply. Sure, it may be frustrating, but there isn't much you can do about that.

I am NOT complaining about anything other than the condescending attitude. Since you were not involved with this situation then you have no idea how rude one guy from Xobni was. They did NOT handle this situation well and they even admitted that. The problem is that they ORIGINALLY set it up to work with or without CEM. Then one day they FORCED everyone to use CEM. That would not work for most of us and the majority of people complained vehemently about it. Xobni did the right thing and corrected their error.

Oooh, big words. Wow. How impressive. I do agree that we need to play by their rules. The arguments you make are a bit fallacious. ;-)

BTW - I'm not the one who dug up this DEAD THREAD!!! I've long since forgotten about this so please let's all just move on. Thank you.
