After I first installed Xobni I noticed that almost everybody emailed me 4-5 times more often than I emailed them. For a moment, I felt bad for being such a slacker. But fortunately, I turned to the data and found errors in Xobni to blame. So unless someone points out that these are stupid user errors, I feel somewhat redeemed. Here is what appears to happen along with two examples . . .

In the conversations box, I notice that there are many more emails than I thought were part of that particular conversation. I open them up to find several duplicates of the same email. So I search outlook and confirm there is only one email. Then I re-synched several times a few times over the next couple days.

Example 1:
There are 4 emails from someone who sent only one. Three of the emails say "message body unavailable" in the sidebar. They won't open when I click open and they give me a message saying "This item no longer exists". If I leave that conversation and return, that message will be gone and there will only be three left. As for the message itself, I originally only received one from that individual. However, a colleague who also received the message forwarded it to me. Is it reading headers within forwarded emails?

Example 2
I received an email invite to a private beta program. I received the same invite from two different people. They were not cc'd and they don't even know each other. Under each of their names, the conversation has two emails. Both state they were sent ("Steve said:") by the currently selected individual. One message shows the body of the email while the other says I need to enable html to view the message. When I open the html message, it is actually from the other person. Does Xobni pair all subjects by words in the subject line only? Even if the senders are completely independent?

I am running this on Office 2007 with Vista and using gmail pop and another work pop account. Xobni build 2588.

Any ideas?
