Searching for characters other than alphanumerics doesn't work as expected. Working in IT, I tend to search for IP addresses and hostnames. These have periods in the string (e.g. 12.34.56.78 or www.google.com). Searching for these brings up a lot of other things that don't match the literal string. :(
