View Full Version : What emails are used for Analytics?

I'm sorry if the answers has been posted before but how to the Analytics get their data (what emails do their use as the source)? The reason I ask is that it seems like the analytics might only be based on emails actually in folders or my sent items or recycle bin. If I empty the deleted items folder, do those emails I deleted still count in the aggregate analytics?
It seems like the number of incoming messages per day is really low and I am wondering if that is because I delete old messages.
The analytics use messages from all of your folders except Deleted Items / Trash.

Thanks for the clarification. If I delete an item does it still count in terms of the analytics or is it gone from the history once I hit delete?
I would expect it to still count of course but on the mail traffic report it is showing incoming mail as averaging only about 0.05 / hour which is WAY under what I am getting. I am trying to figure out the reason for that.
If Xobni has had time to process the email, which generally happens in near real time, then I believe it still counts against the analytics. Not sure why you're numbers are off, but you might want to try re-syncing (Xobni -> Synchronize).

I've done some more testing and once I delete the emails from my inbox they stop counting against analytics. Even after I tried syncing again, still no luck.
I'll contact support directly and see if they can clear up this question and I'll report back here with what I find out. The analytics part of Xobni seems like one of the best parts and I would love for it to work correctly!

I emailed support and are still waiting for another reply but it looks like they hope to add the ability to select which folders to include in the analytics in a future update.
I am still not sure how that would work though once you permanently delete an email from the deleted items folder though.

What about the junk mail folder?
Junk should be ignored as well...

I agree that the junk mail folder should be ignored but my point was that the deleted items folder should actually be included (or at least offer us that opportunity).
I believe they are planning to add an option at some point that will allow you to select which folders are included / excluded.
