Hi,
I had to uninstall as Xobni created a 16GB file and when I started Outlook 2007 it started to copy that file as a backup. it was taking so long I had to shutdown Outlook and uninstall Xobni so I could get some work done.
is this a bug or a feature?
Cheers
Jamie.

Hi Jamie, Xobni created a 16Gb file?
Could you provide a few more details of what file, where it was and what the file-name was?
In Outlook I regularly have my MS Exchange account (well over 1Gb of outlook data) as well as a few IMAP accounts open and the size of Xobnis entire data folder is only 135Mb

the file was xobni2.txt in my appdata/local/xobni directory.
The issue wasn't the size of the file until it decided on one restart to decide to duplicate it.

Also Vista 64bit, Office 2007 SP1.
Is there an option to passify the log?

jtb1965 -
this is Gabor from Xobni. The xobni2.log file you mentioned are our log files. They get copied over to a new file on startup, and the original gets deleted.
The fact that we created a 16 GB file is a bad sign. It indicates that when you start Xobni, literally thousands of exceptions started happening.
Can you send us some samples of the log files you're seeing? We can resolve this error in an upcoming release if we know what's in the logs. Please send us the log files using the "Contact Support" option in your Xobni menu. You can either ZIP the log file or just copy-paste a sample from it.
Thanks,
Gabor

We'll also be adding code to limit the maximum size of the log files. :)

Hi,
I don't speak techi, but I agree that startup is incredibly slow. This is a real challenge when I want to simply open my mail quickly and check my calendar or read an email. My system freezes up to probably go through its syncing routine. I find it especially debilitating when I use my air card or wireless. This took about 30 minutes on my wireless yesterday! I have over 8000 emails in my inbox and several more thousand in special folders.
Is there a way to turn off the syncing feature and turn it back on when I have time to walk away from my desk and let it do its thing?
I use Outlook 2003.

I am finding the same thing. When I start Outlook it's incredibly slow. Whenever I try to reply to mail it takes forever. I received a message this morning, clicked on the message to preview it, open it, and reply to it, took me *8* minutes. I turned off Xobni and now my Outlook is as fast as ever.
Is there any way to speed this tool up? I love the idea of it, but it's so slow.

The same thing is happening to my system. Outlook takes forever to start and working with messages is very slow. Not quite 8 minutes but to the point where I'm looking to disable xobni. I like the tool but it's making Outlook unusable.

I've had the same problem recently. If you open Windows Task Manager and select the processes tab you may find that Outlook is using 90 to 100 % of CPU. Uninstalling xobni, Outlook uses minimal CPU amount and returns to its normal speed. With xobni running, I experience a sloooowwwdown in IE also.
Thought it was a memory problem, I only had 512 with a Pentium 4 - 2.7 MHz. Upped memory to 2 GB. No relief.
Disappointing because I really like the utility. Suggest that future version, allow disbling xobni from within Outlook rather than having to uninstall if there is a problem.
