Just installed v2952 have uninstalled first in order to get the new version fast and Xobni synchronized my data.

In the Sync window there's a message which states "Xobni has detected that your Exchange account is not set to Cached Exchange Mode! This will SIGNIFICANTLY decrease Xobni's performance."

It then goes on to say how to fix this.....

The problem is - I do use Cached Exchange mode. I was online - so I guess what this message should be saying is I should work in Offline mode if I want the Sync to work at maximum performance. I'd recommend that this message is modified a bit.

I did go offline - and Wow - it really speeds through the sync.

@ Theo (and everyone else):

There is something that is causing Outlook to trigger this message inside Xobni, that we are looking into. So, in some cases, you may be seeing this warning erroneously!

If you see the warning and are set to Cached Exchange Mode, don't worry about Xobni affecting your performance. Obviously, if you aren't running Cached Exchange Mode, and then set it properly, you'll see a major improvement in overall Outlook performance.

So, for now, just stay calm while we look into this issue. Thanks!

Just to confirm this behavior: when i was online (and in cache mode) the forced sync after clean installation seemed to hang at 8.4%. However, when i selected offline mode, it synced in a couple of minutes! I'm online again and now it seems to catch my incoming email as well... Running Outlook 2007 on XP here..

My company uses network storage for PSTs and I too get stuck at 8.4% when syncing.

That is, until McAfee identifies a buffer overrun alert and outlook crashes. Outlook isn't set to cached mode, but I'll try changing that in case it helps.

@ MBX & Myopias

When you say that the Sync was hanging at 8.4%, did it stay that way for longer than 25min? I ask, because we are known to take up to 25min before we automatically stop syncing.

If you're trying to sync in network accessible PST's, that could certainly account for some of the delay. And we're working on that McAfee thing, still.

Thanks!

It stays at 8.4% overnight.
However, often coming in the next day it will have crashed after the buffer overflow issue. I've had to uninstall it from the corporate PC to avoid security folks visiting me about repeated McAfee alerts.

I am keeping it installed at home (where it monitors my corp account) but I only work from home 1 day a week and periodically nights & weekends so it doesn't get the use or testing it should (and from home I'm not connecting to my PST folders).
