SOS feedback on XOBNI version 1.6.3. Build 5342 Nov-21-2008

4. Design issue:
when in xobni frame, I right click on a person's photo
(which by chance comes from his facebook profile)
a window opens - and in that window I see the picture ,
and below that I see radio buttons that tell me the source of the picure
-- if I change the radio button from facebook to anything else
I lose the person's picture (very disappointing !!)
----here is what I think should be the correct behavior:
XOBNI should automatically do this logic:
if I found only 1 picture for a person while searching all
my sources (FB/linkedin/outlook/..) yet only in 1 place I found a picture
(lets say that in facebook)
then XOBNI will COPY that picture into his XOBNI picture store
(so to be able to later use that picture and copy it into outlook
or display it when facebook is unavailable.
Else: if more then one picture is available xobni
will ask or display checkbox to allow user to decide which picture
to use as primary.
XOBNI should: (this is the most important) XOBNI will have a
button to "copy active picture" into a person's outlook
contact (much like "facebook fonebook" app)

5. Skype: allow daling skype users ΰ not only to land lines,
also via skype ID's, currently I do not see that option. (I might be mistaken though)

6. BIZDEV / integration -- Digsby IM integration can be a nice idea ..
(check them out guy's) they are as good as you (almost)

7. XOBNI facebook integration:
there is a "bug" in the way you do this,|
most people I know , use different email to open their facebook account which is
in 99% of cases not the same as the Linkedin email address,
and usually not their work email.
This creates a paradox
you can not assume that searching in facebook for an email address will work,
for each social network you should use its own best way to search it spcifically.
I think the person search should include 2 steps:
Step 1: search using email in (FB / LI ) if not found ΰ do
a second step of searching via "first_name Last Name" this search
prior to searching an email in FB, xobni should extract everything it can on the
identity, i.e . email or emails , first name, and last name,
then begin the search in FB with email search
(which most likely has a 50/50 chance of finding what I look for)
then if success .. horray .. J
if email search was not sucsessfull, do the step 2 - name+lastname
a search this can result in some search results
- nothing found
- found 1 exact match
- found 1 match not the right person
- multiple matches.
xobni then should let me choose which one of them is the right match for the EMAIL ID
of the person that I searched info on,
and propose to consolidate all the info for that identity into a new or existing outlook contact.

8. -- it seems that xobni tries to create a card "Xobni Community info" card.
of its own which is similar to an outlook contact
with its own identity picture
-- this is totaly confusing, and causes me more headakes.. why after using outlook contacts
for so many years I'd want to add additional contacts system to maintain.. ?
lets call it: : "XOBNI contact" or xobni identity.
this is a wrong decision in my opinion. I think that the outlook contact for
each person is the right container for the Main Identity for each person.
and focus on merging data into outlook contacts, rather then building a
paralel contacts system on Xobni.
if XOBNI wants to create a community/social network for itself to share/find data on people
its a good idea, but it should be a subordinate to outlook contacts, just like linkedin
totaly confusing.... :-(

9. Search PST files Design issue:
In the settings window in the PST tree where I define which PST's and
folders to index and which not to the if I click or unclick a
checkbox the subfolders do not get checked or unchecked
respectfully (this is VERY not easy to use) as I need to manually go
into each subfolder and check/unchek it manually, you should use
"inherit" for check'unchek subfolders.

10. Missing Feature: MUST HAVE THIS: "Xobniing any email or person name"
When I recive an email where I want xobni to "find" everything it can on a
person in the CC/BCC or the TO field ΰ I'd like to have the option to right
click the mouse on the email address of the person while the email is open,
or when its in outlook's preview pane ΰ and get an option that
will say: "Xobni this email" ΰ then Xobni will try to extract first name and last
name from that email field. And do its stuff

11. MISSING STUFF:
xobni needs to be defined, what to do first when focusing on a new email
-- I mean: what to display in the xobni frame ?
should It first display Linkeding tab, FB tab ? email traffic statistics ?
This is not so good in this new xobni version.
as many times the xobni info frame stays empty.
"if there is nothing to display in the current tab search elseware and show
me what you find."

12. Ignoring some emails / or partial handling
Some email's should be ignored and xobni should skip searching info on them:
all email s from "mailer daemon" (usually Non delivery error emails)
all emails from facebook such as:
Facebook [notification+mx5nsqxr@facebookmail.com]
MySpace [04.125.0.6572657A327840676D61696C2E636F6D@message. myspace.com]
Birthday Cards [apps+mx5nsqxr@facebookmail.com]
Meet New People [apps+mx5nsqxr@facebookmail.com]
postmaster@..........
webmaster@..........
info@..........
donotreply@......
do-not-reply@......
MAILER-DAEMON@ ..
and another type of email:
Email in outlook inbox that show up with an icon different then a regular envelope icon
Usually from the email gateway itself:
email display name in outlook shows as: "System Administrator"
when I right click on it for properties - there is no email address but only "System"
this type of messages sent from the smtp server as error code, are
translated into emails in outlook , however they do not contain sender email
address, xobni should be smart enough not to try to search is in FB/LI or anywhere else.
i.e. emails from automated social networks engines and automated notifications.
Where the email id is a Daemon , or a dynamic email string.
xobni should include a blacklist in its UI for that and supply
it populated with some common values.
and for performance when identifying a blacklisted regular expression
such as
"apps+";*;"@facebookmail.com"
it will skip it completely and do nothing.
