Hello,

I'm experiencing some strange search result depending of order of my words or click ?
I'm looking for an email from "Nicolas D***" about office 2007 in my inbox. I have last build and outlook 2003 SP2. Below, different path search:

search D***, office, 2007 and 0 result
search D***, 6 mails result but not mine and if I click on his name, 11 mails result and I could find my email about office 2007 from Nicolas
search office, 2007 and I could find my email about office 2007 from Nicolas

How explain this strange result ? Anybody have the same kind of bug in searching ? One Xobni team's member could perhaps explain this behavior ?

It's for me really a bug because i'm now less confident in search result.
Thanks for your kind feedbacks and probably fix from dev team.
Regards
Samuel

Hi Samuel,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the Xobni search. To clarify, Xobni search works by keyword, and doesn't support search modifiers at the moment, although we plan to have more in soon. So in your example:

1. search D***, office, 2007: This will search for emails that have all the keywords "D***," "office," and "2007". Notice that the keywords I listed have the commas within them. This is because Xobni currently doesn't support comma as a search modifier, and treats is as a search character.

The best way (IMHO) to search for an email from a specific person is to visit that persons profile and click on the spyglass icon to search conversations. Otherwise, try searching without using comma's. I imagine that the search "D*** office 2007" might have found the email you were looking for.
